Notice for the 2025 First Semester Thesis Submission Qualification Exam

1. Application for the Exam

A. Application period : March 24, 2025 (Mon) 09:00AM ~ March 28, 2025 (Fri) 23:00 (Meet the deadline)

※ Make sure your registration is complete (print your test identification slip to confirm)

B. Application Method : Apply through the Integrated Information System

Access http://www.seoultech.ac.kr → Integrated Information System (Graduate School Administration) → Graduation → Manage Major Graduation Exam → Register for Exams

If the tuition fee has not been paid, you will not be able to apply for the

qualification exam for thesis submission. Please make sure to pay the tuition fee during the payment period before applying for the exam.

-For the oral exam, select "Oral Exam" in the subject selection.

(You must register you thesis research proposal 'Academics > Graduation > Thesis Registration (Graduate) > Thesis Research Proposal Registration'

The submission period for the thesis research proposal will be announced separately)

C. Important Notes

-Required s : None

※ One copy of the test identification slip (must bring on the exam day)

- If there is no photo in the academic record, application submission is not allowed. (※ You can upload or update your photo in the Integrated Information System.)

※ Log in to the Integrated Information System – Academic - School Register - My Info - Manage Personal Information Change – Click ‘Search’ - Click ‘Add’ - Click ‘Select file’ - Confirm - Save

2. Exam method : Written Exam or Oral Exam (Refer to the attahed file for the exma method specific to each department)

A. Written Exam

- Number of Exam Subjects: 2 subjects (regardless of master's or doctoral program)

※ Pass/fail is determined separately for each subject.

※ Subjects taken from other department cannot be taken for the exam

- Passing Score: 70 or higher out of 100 per subject.

B. Oral Exam

- d on the thesis research proposal, candidates will present their specialized knowledge, research preparation, and plans, followed by a Q&A session.

- Each department forms its own Oral Exam uation Committee. A candidate passes if at least two-thirds of the uators approve.

-For non-thesis track students, the oral exam consists of a Q&A session d on their coursework in major subjects.

3. Exam dates : Condected by each department between April 19, 2025（Sat) ~ April 28, 2025 (Mon) (※ Exam date and time cannot be changed for personal reasons)

4. Exam Date and Location by Department: To be announced later❲Check the Graduate School website for updates❳

5. Exam Exemption Policy (Some departments do not allow exemption applications, so please make sure to check the attached file)

A. Exemption Criteria: Please refer to the attached file.

B. How to Apply for Exemption (Materials scheduled for publication or presentation cannot be used for exemption applications. The publication or presentation date must be before the application period.)

- Integrated Information System > Academic > Graduation → Manage Major Graduation Exam → Register for Exams

- Select the corresponding item under ‘Exemption Items’

- Enter the journal name and the date of the publication

- Upload supporting s as attachments and save

※ Duplicate recognition with the Future Talent Scholarship research achievements is not allowed

※ Starting from the first semester of the 2025, the doctoral program exam exemption policy will be abolished

6. Announcement of Successful Candidates : Scheduled for May 14 (Wed), 2025.

4. Submission of Review Results: June 23, 2025(Mon) ~ June 25, 2025(Wed)

5. Final Thesis Submission (Printed Copies): July 7, 2025(Mon) ~ July 18, 2025(Fri)
