Department of Computer Science and Engineering
Taking responsibility for the infrastructure of an information-oriented society, the Department of Computer Engineering pursues human-centered thinking and provides education and research for computer-related studies and technologies, which are in turn applied to actual life.
The Department of Information Industry (electronic computer major) was established in 1991, and the Department of Electronic Computer was newly founded in 1994. The name of the department was changed to computer engineering in 2002, and research and teaching are carried out by 13 full-time professors.
The purpose is to efficiently use computers and information resources, which are the core of the advanced information industry, to conduct profound academic research and to foster skills that fulfill social needs. The goals of this department are to allow students to acquire professional knowledge in relation to computer hardware and software, foster creative leaders in the field of computer engineering that can lead the future IT industry, and cultivate advanced personnel that can work in various fields related with computer systems, such as the operation, maintenance and management of computer systems.
