Structural Safety Research Center(SSRC) was set up in March 1997. The center focuses on the risk assessments of investment and construction, structural health monitoring, structural maintenance inspection, design of advanced composite structures, structural stability and monitoring, modeling of deterioration of steel, reinforced concrete and glass fiber reinforced structures, durability and reliability of structural masonry, investigations of retrofitting for deteriorated structures, influence of natural and man-made hazards on infrastructure risk and safety, security risk assessment, risk-based decision-making, life-cycle and sustainability issues for new materials, smart structures and damage tolerance and progressive failure modeling of composite structures.
